Loved ones are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Dalton Shaun Stang, who tragically passed away at the age of 30 in a motor vehicle accident on May 15, 2026. His sudden passing has left family, friends, coworkers, and the entire community devastated as they remember a man whose life was filled with adventure, laughter, hard work, and deep love for the people around him.
Born on July 26, 1995, in Paynesville, Dalton grew up with a passion for the outdoors and a spirit that embraced life fully. Family members recall a childhood spent camping, hunting, fishing, racing motocross, and playing hockey and baseball alongside friends and loved ones. After graduating from Paynesville High School in 2013, he attended Wadena State and Community Technical College, where he pursued a career as an electrical lineman.
Dalton dedicated nearly a decade of his professional life to the utility industry, proudly serving as an Aerial Supervisor for TelCom Construction. Coworkers describe him as hardworking, dependable, and always willing to step in and help wherever needed. Beyond his career, Dalton also pursued his entrepreneurial passions through hunting and fishing guide services and by operating Stang Livestock Beef Sales.
Friends and family say the outdoors were where Dalton felt most at peace. He loved horses, roping, hunting pheasants, ducks, geese, and deer, as well as spending countless hours on the water fishing during early mornings and late nights.
Those closest to him will forever remember his infectious laugh, quick wit, generous spirit, and ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Loved ones say Dalton loved deeply and lived fully, always showing up for others without hesitation.
He leaves behind his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and his beloved dogs, Hawk and Outlaw. His passing comes after the loss of his grandparents, Elmer and Maryann Arnzen, and Bernard Stang.
Family and friends will gather on May 24 in Zimmerman to celebrate Dalton’s life at the home he had recently purchased, a place he had hoped would become filled with memories shared with those he loved most.
Though his life ended far too soon, Dalton Shaun Stang’s legacy of kindness, hard work, humor, and love will live on forever in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
